MOZAMBIQUE - NIGERIANS OPPRESSED AND KILLED BY MOZAMBICAN POLICEMEN

A Mozambique-based Nigerian businessman was killed by Mozambican policemen for no apparent reason. Nigerians appeal to their government to intervene and stop the ill-treatment Nigerians face in Mozambique.

Nnamdi a Mozambique-based businesman and indigene of Imo State Nigeria was shot to death by Mozambican policemen“without any reason.”

According to reports, Nigerians are mistreated by the police in Mozambique, especially in the country’s capital Maputo where the tragic shooting occured. They claim to “hate Nigerians”.

Calls on the Nigerian government to step in and bring to a stop the mistreatment, humiliation and abuse Nigerian citizens have to suffer from the hands of Mozambicans.

A Nigerian man in Mozambique said:

“Non-Nigerian foreigners settle down in Mozambique happily. But the police in Maputo, Mozambique, are intimidating us,” and “When they see a Nigerian, they search him and confiscate whatever is in their bag.

“What concerns me, I was robbed twice by the police here. They collected all the money I had on me.

“Federal Government of Nigeria has to look into the matter. Our authorities need to know how Mozambican policemen are oppressing Nigerians. Our ambassador to Mozambique does nothing to protect us or seek justice. Aren’t we the giant of Africa?”
