The former Disney star, Miley Cyrus, won video of the year for "Wrecking Ball" at the 2014 MVA's ahead of Beyoncé and Jay Z’s “Drunk in Love”, Pharrell Williams’ “Happy”, Sia’s “Chandelier” and Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX’s “Fancy.
But Cyrus surprised everyone by giving her time in the spotlight to a young homeless man named Jesse, who walked on stage to accept her trophy for her.
Jimmy Fallon held the microphone out for him to explain how viewers could donate to Hollywood homeless centre Mr Friend's Place. while Cyrus wept watching in the audience.
